Also visited UK Education Fair on Saturday at British Council. It was interesting…
Attended a seminar on LAW, presented by Dr Subhajit Basu, from Queen’s University, Belfast. But UK doesn’t sound good for Masters in Law, unless you have done LLB from UK.
Its not only expensive as compared to some other Countries, but you have to return back
The one year Masters Degree in UK costs around 10 Lakh…
Poonam says
That is expensive. 10 lakh. 😯 there must be some kind of scholarship that you are also able to apply to?
Archer says
There are very few scholarships available in Law
In any case, I am not going anywhere, one of my friend was more interested… i just accompanied him to gain some knowledge 😀
JAISMINE says
It is no worth of pursuing LLM from Uk .There are 3 reasons. One you have to pay 15 lakhs inclusive of tution fees and living expenses.
Secondly every one should ask an important question that what is the shape of your career after finishing and spending on LLM . If you are suggested that you can go for phd then who is going to pay for you.
There are scholarships neither 1%.
You need distinction only then may be possible that you can get scholarship.
Third reason is why should somebody spend 15 lakhs in universities which are not even in LONDON.
lIKE QUEENS UNIVERSITY BELFAST. It may rank now as 20th university but if you see the profile of this university you will not find single Indian student having scholarship that to full in management or law during their Master.
Another thing is belfast is a conflict area and nobody even describes that you can freely move only in some areas
and most of the areas have flags where you are prohibited to walk. If you walk in those areas even in the morning then God knows what is going to be the result.
Many student would like to work part time but in this case you cannot afford taxi to go to work which may cost you 10 pounds everyday.
The most important thing is that if you read more about the profile of the representative from queens belfast who is an Indian himself ,you may find he is himself suffering racism, you can check on Google search by
“David Ford condem racism”
You may find the details .
so the advise is incase of LLM
1. check if they are providing full scholarship or 50% of it.
2. Ask whether with studies they will surely provide job opportunities ensure 100% availability.
3. see whether the area is safe.
4. Are you going to be subjected to discrimination.
5. Never trust the circle that is International representative who may be Indian and tries to woo you for luxury life.
Because once you have spent your money this representative will neither be bothered to provide you any assistance because his /her main duty was to provide finance to university and you are his ultimate catch.
PLEASE Remember that if you are promised to be involved in some projects then it is not true. This is so serious because if at all you are involved then also you may not be involved in ERASMUS programme because you have to apply for visa in EU nation. Noone is going to pay you money .
scholarships do mention for everyone but you have 0% chance.
check how many Indians got scholarship in last 3 years as compared to Europeans.
Take utmost care.ADVICE IS TRY TO SPEND MONEY IN UNIVERSITIES IN LONDON.
DO NOT GET WOOED BY COST BEING CHEAPER AS IT IS NOT TRUE.
THANKS
