Cable TV…

11/15/2004 By Blogger

I have been observing for a long time… the poor service rendered by Local Cable Operator(LCO).
So need to take issue at Consumer Court!

The latest issue is… closing down of my favorite Zee English Channel since september ๐Ÿ˜Ž

Here there is no system of Subscribing as such, CAS (conditional access system) has not been implemented yet. So whenever the LCO feels, he closes down any channels, he wishes ๐Ÿ™„

Though he has option of DD-1, DD-news, that are otherwise also available directly, or can shut down Regional language channels. But NO, he cares about South Indians in Delhi ๐Ÿ˜›

When we never watch any Punjabi Channel, I wonder why South Indians be watchin’ their regional language Channels ๐Ÿ˜•

Though i have a Law Degree but filing case is not out of being lawyer. First case I won back in 1999-2000 against ONIDA. Before, I even had thought of pursuing Law.

The purpose is to enforce your rights as consumers because when we are paying consideration for service, then we expect the company to provide
service of some standard and to behave reasonably.

Filing of case, serves many puposes, it’s not just compensation. But whatever court decides… it helps the society as whole, firslty it becomes a precedent. Plus the companies become reluctant to repeat the same act in future.

If you keep quiet, companies assume customer is a fool, and their acts increse manifold.
And this is what is happening now-a-days, in companies such as Reliance, Satyam and as you said Orange, etc.

Here also many companies call on Hutch, Airtel mobiles for marketing purposes, like you have mentioned and also on Reliance Junk SMS messages are received.

Against Orange, You can approach the consumer forum in Mumbai. It takes just preparation of case, even one page is enough and there will be some fees
and 3-4 hearings. Try it out ๐Ÿ˜Ž

In past many times, I have to let go companies, due to lack of time. But letting go companies like SIFY, is not good.

well you said it correct people just let go coz main reason lack of time and think this very tedious Job i think the same.. i mean i do get annoyed but then its not the number one priority to sue them banging the phone when a tele marketer does :laugh:it its just the rude way out rotfl

Really, time is a big problem.
Good reply to tele marketer… the only way out ๐Ÿ˜‰

But I have this time filed both the cases, i.e. against SIFY and Hathway Cable TV ๐Ÿ™‚

I can’t wait to hear what happens with the case. ๐Ÿ™‚ Really even in the US if you want something to get done, you should really just sue them (or threaten to sue, which I do allll the time ๐Ÿ˜€ ). :rotfl:

You are just like me

I did threat HathWay Cable Operator in the first place but he challenged me… and I accepted it :highfive:

Though in the last two months, two got scared…. MTNL and SQL Star International ๐Ÿ˜›
