In consumer case Jai Kumar Mittal V. Brilliant Tutorials – Brilliant Tutorials have been asked to pay Rs 25,000 to the complainant, who sued on the grounds that the material provided by the Institute for IAS preparations, was not up-to-date, particulary the amendments in Law were not incorporated into the LAW material.
The case was filed in 1994 by a Lawyer and was decided recently. It was held, it is Institute’s responsibility to provide up-to-date material, otherwise it is a case of ‘Deficiency of Service’.
Interesting, that means I can sue ‘Faculty of Law, Delhi University’ and some other professional Institutes 😉
