SIFY inspires Hotwire…

9/11/2005 By Blogger

Hotwire have come up with changes in Unlimited Packages… which state all packages are shared. Which made the speed pathetic, so I have now shifted to MTNL Triband connection (256KBps – Night Unlimited Plan).

In the month of August, Hotwire claimed they will now provide 64 KBps speed at the same price, which was previously applicable to 48 KBps, i.e. Rs 490 p.m. But instead made all the packages shared and the speed received was between the range of 25 – 35 KBps ๐Ÿ˜›

Even in the month of July I experienced the same thing with a different Hotwire Package… when I took a package of 92 KBps, but experienced the same speed of 48 KBps. And on complaining… I was told, it was a shared package and further the speed claimed is Upload + Download speed, which are 48 KBps each and therefore the speed claimed is 92 KBps ๐Ÿ˜†

This shows how openly Private BroadBand companies try to cheat customers… I will surely serve them with a legal notice :attack:

And the matter against BroadBand companies will be taken up in addition to TRAI with Authority constituted under Competition Act… previously known as MRTP commission.

Again this brings forth the fact… government services are better, that included the MTNL broadband. I have Night Unlimited Plan…. which in addition to download 500 MB for the day allows unlimited download at the speed of 256 KBps between Midnight till 8 AM.

A movie of 1.36 GB was downloaded in two nights, i.e. 16 hours ๐Ÿ˜‰

Some companies when they offer packages … there are some hidden conditions, there are very very very small stars below with all the conditions ๐Ÿ™ I can’t believe that Hotwire actually gave you such explaination when you asked about 92 KBps :knocked:
