Naukri.com Served Rs 1 Crore Legal Notice

3/19/2006 By Blogger 5 Comments

Have you seen the new Naukri.com AD… which shows employee spelling Boss name H-A-R-I as “Hitler, Arrogant, Rascal and Idiot” ๐Ÿ˜€

So a Lawyer based at Chandigarh, whose 11-year son is named HARI, has served legal notice upon Naukri.com asking Rs 1 crore as compensation in addition of withdrawal of Advertisement on the ground that name ‘Hari’ is being used in a derogatory manner:

Lawyer Says:
“The telecast of the advertisement has undermined the status, reputation, respect and self-confidence of my client and has severely affected his standing in the school, residential locality and social circle. After the advertisement came on air, many people known to my client have told him that they have a lower opinion of him”

Maybe Anat… but Naukri.com can surely be in trouble as the Advertisement was never accompaied by any disclaimer.

About the break… let me add one line at the end of the above post ๐Ÿ˜‰

Just because we in india can not file separate ligitations for tortuous liabilities(except for taking shelter under the provisions engrafted in various statutes)wish we could file separate cases for each and every damage and tortuous activity suffered in the hands of multinationals and other agencies.
In these days of high handed activities being inflicted by the so called powerfuls on anyone and every one…it is high time that we have had a change in the indian law as well.
