I had filed application under section 27 of Consumer Protection Act, 1986 before District Consumer Redressal Forum, Shalimar Bagh, Delhi. Court date was fixed up for 27 July 2007 but they paid up the compensation ahead of the date, as they were left with no option, as time for appeal already expired way back in February 2007, i.e. 30 days from the recipt of Court Order by opposite party!
Funniest part is SIFY’s cover letter still states… “Without prejudice to our right to go in for our appeals…” 🙂

Well, they surely knew that the money spent for lawyer and the time would not be worth it for the amount… though they did get some negative publicity anyway.
